What is Baby/Child Dedication?
Child Dedications are essentially a public commitment for parents that they will raise their child up in the ways of the Lord and according to His Word.
Is a Child Dedication the same as a water baptism?
Child Dedications are not a water baptism. Baby Dedications are more of a parent commitment. We recommend water baptism for ages 7 and older, or when the child can consciously choose on their own to follow Jesus.
What is the age a baby or child can be dedicated?
We typically dedicate children between the ages of 0-4 years old.
What does the Child Dedication service look like?
During a portion of our main church service, the parents and child are invited forward where Pastor Bill will pray a prayer over them. The child will also receive a certificate and a gift. We encourage other family members to attend the dedication service as well!
When are Child Dedications offered?
We offer Child Dedications typically twice a year- Spring (Mother’s Day) and Fall.
Our Next Child Dedication is Sunday October 8th.
